Granada and Osasuna are both football clubs playing in the top tier of Spanish football, La Liga.
Granada Football Club was founded in 1931 and has a strong following in the southern region of Andalusia, where it is based. Granada has had a mixed history, with periods of success and struggle in both the first and second divisions of Spanish football. The club's most successful period was in the 1970s, but it has since experienced more difficult times. Granada has played in La Liga in recent years and reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League in 2021.
Osasuna Club was founded in 1920 and is based in the northern region of Navarra. The club has a strong traditional rivalry with Athletic Bilbao, and the two teams play in a fixture known as El Viejo Clasico (The Old Classic). Osasuna also has a mixed history, notably reaching the final of the Copa del Rey in 2005 but subsequently suffering relegation and then promotion back to La Liga. The club has a reputation for passionate support, with its fans known as Los Rojillos (The Reds).
The two clubs have played each other many times over the years, including in La Liga matches. They have developed a competitive rivalry, with both teams often targeting their fixtures against each other as a chance to assert themselves on the field. Granada and Osasuna have both had their share of successes and challenges, but both are proud institutions of Spanish football.
